Excel Truck Group is searching for a dedicated Assistant Truck Service Manager to join the team in Charlotte, NC.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Able to supervise, lead and guide our technicians in the areas of truck diagnostic, repair and support to our customers fleet needs. Assists in the recruitment, on-boarding and training of our technicians. Recognizing and maximizing the strengths of the Technician as work is assigned and proactively addressing deficiencies that impact the progress of a repair order. 
• Supervising each key step of the repair order process from first contact with the customer to closing the repair order. Provides administrative assistance supporting a high-volume Truck Service team.  
• Promptly addresses and resolves customer concerns and service follow-up issues. Leads and supports communications with all key areas in supporting our customer and closing repair orders as expected. 
• Building productive working relationships with fellow employees through clear communications. 
• Has an approachable style; fosters open communication through active listening.  
• Asks relevant questions regarding repair or service requests to ensure proper servicing of vehicle. 
• Maintains open communications with our technicians, management team and customers regarding job/repair status changes. Manages our technicians to ensure quality repairs and the reduction of returned or incomplete repairs. Able to follow up with customers to ensure they are satisfied with the service they receive.  
• Promotes cooperation and teamwork among Technicians and support staff. Leading and driving the throughput and overall Customer experience for the Service department.   
• Manages each repair order’s time and the efficiency of the Technician team. Works closely with the Service Manager to ensure that the training, development and overall OEM training for the Technician team is met and exceeded. 
• Able to mentor and develop a training path for new and inexperienced Technicians. Supporting the development and progress of the next generation of Technicians.  
• Experienced with Freightliner, Sterling, Mack, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel, and/or Cummins preferred.  
• Able to perform other duties and tasks as assigned that support the service department and dealerships
